MURANO CHANDELIER

The first Murano chandelier probably was the “cesendello”, a blown glass container filled with water and oil, used to light Venetian houses and churches, then arrived the impressive Murano chandeliers of the 18th century. And with these, maybe the most famous Murano chandelier, the “Rezzonico”, built on a metal structure covered with little glass cups (“bossette”) and decorated with flowers and leaves of magnificent construction.

Finally we have the Murano chandeliers of the 1900s, with the arrival of electricity, which became the expression of the masters and designers of that period.

The Gianni Seguso furnace continues this tradition, producing decadent and dramatic Murano chandeliers in “Rezzonico” style or creating new shapes with the collaboration of famous designers or following the customers needs.
